At the other end of the size scale is this most interesting little book with numerous images of coins. It is in fact the catalogue of an exhibition "Encounters - Travel and Money in the Byzantine World" which was viewable at the British Museum in late 2006

"Turkish Miniature Painting" compiled by Metin And. Contains nearly seventy high quality copies of Turkish Miniatures, mostly from the Topkapi collection, and much interesting descriptive material. Dost (the Istanbul publisher) also publish a book of Suleiman's love poems interspersed with miniatures - another high quality job. |
"Suleiman the Magnificent" by Andre Clot. Clot is both historian and journalist, and has produced a fascinating book which embraces the way people lived as well as what happened at the height of the power of the Ottoman Empire. Can be bought from Amazon UK |
