Corrado, 92, could not get over it when we showed him his portrait on the web!  On hearing that we were off to France the next day, we were embraced and offered the traditional local Italian valedictory for friends

In the background -  the throaty roar of a couple of hundred Ferrari Tourers enjoying a Friday rally for which the main Chianti trunk road had been closed - the Italians know their priorities and tourist convenience comes a poor second to car rallies.
