The fountain on a traffic island opposite the church of Sant'Andrea della Valle (on the busy Corso Vittore Emanuele and the setting for Act I of Puccini's opera Tosca) is a bit of a challenge to reach unhurt, and sadly the water noise is drowned out by traffic ..... so this is probably the best and coolest way of experiencing it!

Water feature outside Santa Maria in Domnica (Celean Hill, Rome). The hog's head bowed boat dates back to ancient Rome, and was possibly a votive offering, though it owes its position here to a renovation project undertaken on the orders of Cardinal Giovanni de'Medici (later Leo X).
