The Abruzzi earthquake in 2009 caused the collapse of the arch section above, happily there was only minor damage to the Ambo and Candelabrum

 

 

 

Inside the (now deconsecrated) church there are some stunningly beautiful and well kept "artefacts" including a paschal candelabrum (above) and a massive ambo dating from the 11 hundreds (below).

 

 

 

 

The relics of San Clemente lie beside the ciborium (above) in a marble casket (below right), heavily protected by armoured glass and security devices.
