Rustic versions of the Evangelists - Saint John the Evangelist (left) and his eagle holding the end of a broken scroll, and a left handed Saint Luke and his bull (right) helping hold a scroll.

A two episode boss - on the left , Saint Denis is executed (ironically by a now headless executioner) whilst in scene two the Patron Saint of France carries his severed head into church in the style of Florence's San Miniato.

On a more important every day level, a washerwoman grabs at the hair of a thief trying to steal clothes (postcard)

One of the pretty ordinary green men in the cloister (here's a more interesting Cistercian one from Catalonia)

More to come ... Meantime there is a book (and indeed a CD ROM) of stunning roof boss photos and explanatory text.
